Dear guests, friends, and supporters,
This is an unprecedented time for us, our customers, our wedding couples and the nation, as we try to understand and get to grips with this rapidly evolving pandemic. It is affecting us all in ways we never thought imaginable. We are in uncharted waters dealing with a situation that no previous experience can guide us. Life will change, times will be tough, and we will need to be healthy.
We have ridden many a storm in the 32 years of being in business – two recessions, foot and mouth outbreak, the Gulf wars, Brexit, snow, floods. Nothing comes close to this. The tsunami-like speed of events has been alarming.
Never in all those times have we ever closed for business – until now. We had hoped to continue until after Mother’s day service, even though this has been ravaged with cancellations. However, in response to the guidance given, by the PM on Friday night (20/03/20), urging the public; “Stay out of bars and restaurants and cancel all non-essential travel”. And after the subsequent announcement on Monday night (23/06/20), urging the public to "Stay at home, and only go outside for food, health reasons or essential work", The Castle Hotel will closed.
How long will we be closed? Hopefully not too long, and the measures taken will have a positive effect on halting the pandemic.
If you have any queries regarding any current or future bookings, conferences or weddings our team will still available on 01550 720343 or preferably via email on firstname.lastname@example.org
Can I book future room bookings? Future room bookings can still be made online by Clicking Here.
(Please Note: We have suspended the ability to booking any accommodation for stays before 30th April 2020 - This will be reviewed as we find out more from the government. If the close down lasts any longer, we will cancel rooms with no charge.)
Thank you for taking time to read this message, be safe, protect your loved ones and once we have got through this dreadful situation I have a feeling the spirit of human kindness and resolve will be more stronger than before.
Sean, Glyn, Gareth and the Taste Inn Wales team
Long ago, in our distant past we launched the first Welsh gastro pub and we’ve returned to our roots to renovate this charming Inn.
In the best traditions of a Welsh coaching inn it has always been a place for travellers and visitors to rest, to replenish and recharge their batteries. It still is today.
A warm and friendly place to unwind, you’ll find a proper traditional bar, a roaring log fire to toast your toes and plenty of comfy sofas in which to lose yourself with a good book.
The Castle Hotel is located in the quaint market town of Llandovery on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains is the perfect base for exploring and enjoying the beautiful heartland of Wales.
The original rustic charm and character is still there, but we’ve added a few modern, fresh ideas.
Our own love of food guarantees some seriously good food by our talented chefs. ‘Keep it real, simple & fresh'
Welcome to The Castle, Gareth and the team look forward to meeting you...
